Inwood on GOP State Central Committee

Clinton County Republican Party Chairman Tim Inwood was named on Friday to the Ohio Republican Party State Central Committee, to fill the unexpired term of the late Phil Bowman.

The GOP State Central Committee is made up of one man and one woman from each Senate district, so when fully staffed there are 66 members on the body. The district is made up of 10 counties — the Ohio State Senate 17 district.

Inwood said several chairpersons reached out to him to fill the post, and on Friday by a unanimous vote of the committee Inwood was voted in, then sworn in.

The last time Clinton County had a member on the GOP State Central Committee, it was Dorothy Clifton in the 1980s, said Inwood, adding that, to his knowledge, Clinton County has not had a man on the GOP SCC for over 50 years.

Inwood said he plans to remain Clinton County GOP Party Chairman until the reorganization in May 2022, at which time he would step down as the county GOP chairman.
