EC 3rd in varsity duals, 5th in junior high duals

LEES CREEK — The East Clinton varsity wrestling team finished third Saturday at the East Clinton Duals.

The Astros were 3-2. Greeneview won the event with a 5-0 record.

East Clinton defeated West Union 47-24, Country Day 42-18 and North College Hill 36-24. The Astros lost to Greeneview 39-12 and Williamsburg 39-36.

Cooper Rack went unbeaten for the Astros, 5-0, and had two pins at 150 pounds. Curtis Singleton was 4-1 at 144, Avery Hughes was 4-1 at 157 and Owen Roberts was 4-1 with a trio of pins at 215.

Chris Rider was 3-2 with two pins at 132, Hudson Singer was 2-3 at 165, Darien Clouse was 1-4 at 190 and Chase Carpenter went 3-1 at 285 pounds.

The East Clinton Junior High Duals also were held Saturday, with the Astro team placing fifth out of eight teams with a 3-2 record.

East Clinton was victorious over Williamsburg 30-28 and North College Hill 30-6 and Country Day 30-24 but lost to Dixie 36-24 and Greeneview 40-24.

Mason Rack at 172 pounds, Thomas Hood at 160 and Carson Jones at 150 all were 5-0 for East Clinton. Landen Kaun had four pins at 104 pounds and Austin Singer won three matches at 134 pounds. Eion Hackmann won a match at 128 pounds.
