CINCINNATI — With an SBAAC best team score, Clinton-Massie defeated New Richmond Wednesday night at Cherry Grove Lanes.

The Falcons had 2830 while the Lions bowled 2654, which is the best total in the league by a team other than Clinton-Massie, according to the SBAAC website.

“Tonight was a total team effort,” coach Tyler Hayslip said. “New Richmond bowled well enough to win any match in the SBAAC. We were just the better team tonight. We were able to pick up our spares and finish the ninth and tenth frames.”

In the girls match, Clinton-Massie lost 2146 to 1987. Lacie Sandlin had a 354 series for Massie.

“After the first game we were only down 25 pins,” Hayslip said. “In the second game we were not able to pick up our spares and New Richmond pulled ahead. When we start picking up our spares as a team, we will start shocking some people.”

In the boys match, Massie bowled well the entire night with team games of 1,024 and 1,013 and baker games of 194, 189, 213, 197. Massie came in to the match with a 186 baker game average.

Gavan Hunter had a 454 series but Sam Massie had 437 and Brandon Moritz 408.

Records in the SBAAC American Division are the Clinton-Massie boys 5-3; New Richmond boys 5-2; Massie girls 1-7; New Richmond 4-3.
