A total of 26 Clinton-Massie cheerleaders will be heading to Orlando, Fla. this week for the Universal Cheerleaders Association National High School Cheerleading Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Competition is set for Friday through Sunday and can be viewed on Varsity TV.

Clinton-Massie coach Sheri Stulz said this is the first time for her squad to have a team in the Junior Varsity national competition. Massie also will have teams in the Game Day Varsity and Extreme cheer competitions.

The Game Day Varsity will perform on Friday with the JV Game Day and Extreme teams going on Saturday, Stulz said.

“We had one team qualify last year into finals which was our Extreme team,” Stulz said. “Unfortunately we have had a lot of injuries and have had to adjust.”

Students heading to nationals include Jenna Hanlon, Delaney Warnock, Ally Coy, Emma Collins, Morgan Riggers, Tess Pringnitz, Sierra Kenney, Kyla Keever, Landree Stump, Kealey James, Sammi Brown, Lydia Cameron, Shealynn Lamb, Lynnea Dean, Rhea Prell, Abby Crouse, Hailey Pugh, Hannah Barrett, Riley Corcoran, Cassie Hagris, Ava Fisher, Ava Wallabe, Baylie Wulf, Grace Paytes, Korrinne Thesken, and Daphne Woodrum.

In addition to Stulz, the team also is coached by Jessica Hanlon and Abby Broglin.
