GBK Final: East Clinton 65, Felicity 18

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — East Clinton wrapped up its second straight unbeaten SBAAC National Division championship Tuesday with a 65-18 win over Felicity at Brian P. Mudd Court.

With the win at one of their homes away from home, the Astros go to 12-0 in the National and 20-2 overall. East Clinton has won 26 straight National Division games

East Clinton now turns its attention to the post-season. They begin tournament play 11 a.m. Saturday against Blanchester at Wilmington’s Fred Summers Court.

“They’re excited,” EC coach Bill Bean said. “One of the girls said in the lockerroom, we want to make another run this year.”

East Clinton advanced to the regional semifinal last season before losing to eventual state champion Purcell-Marian.

Against Felicity, the outcome was never in doubt. The Cardinals are low in numbers and lower in wins.

“You worry (as a coach) a little bit about that,” Bean said. “A lof of groups I’ve coached, I’d worry about that a lot but this group I don’t. They’re pretty business-like. They work hard in practice. They practice hard than some teams I’ve coached play. They’re pretty serious about it.”
