EC splits with Whiteoak day after late win versus G-Men

East Clinton split a non-league softball doubleheader Saturday with Whiteoak, winning 9-2 and losing 2-1.

Chloe Scott was solid in the circle in both games, combining for 13 innings, nine hits, two earned runs, one base on balls and 24 strikeouts.

In the win, Savannah Tolle had three hits and scored three times to go along with three stolen bases. Aubrie Simpgon had a hit, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

Scott had two hits, scored twice, drove in three runs and swiped four bases. Cheyenne Reed had two runs, two doubles, two RBI and two stolen bases.

Novalee Dotson had a hit, a run, two RBI and two stolen bases. Megan Hadley had an RBI.

In the loss, EC had three hits. Reed doubled, Hadley singled and drove ina run and Lopez also singled. Dotson scored the only run.

On Friday, East Clinton (3-5 overall, 1-1 National) rallied in the eighth inning for a 7-6 win over Georgetown in SBAAC National Division play.

Tolle had four doubles, scored twice and drive in three runs to lead a 13-hit attack. Dotson had four hits, including a pair of doubles.

Scott had three hits and three runs batted in. In the cirlce, Scott gave up six hits and three walks while striking out 15 in eight innings.

East Clinton was crusing along 3-0 but Georgetown (1-3) scored four in the sixth to take a 4-3 lead. The Astros answered with a run in the seventh and the teams went to extra innings.

EC took a 7-4 lead in the eighth and then had to hold off the G-Men who scored two in the eighth to make it close.
