ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Clinton-Massie’s seventh inning rally fell short Saturday in a 7-6 defeat at the hands of New Richmond.

The loss leaves Massie at 4-3 overall, 0-2 in the SBAAC American Division. The Lions are 9-0 overall, 3-0 in the American.

Laila Davis took the loss in the circle. New Richmond scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 7-4 lead.

Clinton-Massie rallied in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run homerun by Davis. The next three CM batters were retired in order to end the game.

“Sydney Doyle went 4-for-4 while McKenna Branham had two hits. Davis, Emma Crombie, Brylie Green, Maddie Ward and Maddie Courson also had hits for the Falcons.

“Most complete game we played this season and proud of the efforts,” coach Brandon Lewis said. “New Richmond is a good team and well-coached. We battled all game long with them.”
