OWENSVILLE — Tiffany Drewry had four hits, including two homeruns, and drove in six as Clermont Northeastern defeated Clinton-Massie 19-9 in six innings Thursday.

The non-league softball loss puts Massie at 2-5. The Rockets are 8-3.

After the Falcons made it 13-9 in the sixth, the Rockets ended the game with six runs in the bottom of the sixth. A Drewry homer was the final at-bat of the game.

The loss spoiled a big day for Sydney Doyle who had three hits, including a grand slam, and drove in five runs. Doyle and Layla Davis pitched for Clinton-Massie.

“The girls battled back from a 13-0 hole to close the gap to 13-9 but couldn’t get any closer,” Massie manager Brandon Lewis said. “Happy to see them fight back but CNE just continued to hit the ball the entire game.”
