The weekend of Aug. 16, the Wilmington High School Class of 1964 celebrated their 60th class reunion. On Friday evening, class members gathered at Charlie’s in the Murphy Theatre where Mike Wallace, president of the class, greeted everyone. A guided tour of the theatre was led by Terry Thompson, facilities director, on and under the stage, highlighting the many improvements that have been made since classmates last attended movies there in the 1960s.
On Saturday morning, the director of the Clinton County History Center, Shelby Boatman, led a tour of the museum featuring sports in Clinton County over the years. A catered dinner was held later in the day at the Cape May Community Center, followed by a return to the Murphy for the show, “One Night in Memphis.” This tribute was very timely for the class, featuring the musice of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis.
