William “Bill” G. Merriman and Janet L. Hendee Merriman will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on July 23, 2017. They were married in 1952 at Eleazer Methodist Church, Xenia, by the Rev. George Groh Jr.
They have two children, Jean (Neil) Gilmore of Wilmington, and Jerry (Cyndi) Merriman of Xenia; four grandchildren, Julie (Tim) Kelley of Sabina, Jared (Liz) Merriman of Beavercreek, Phillip Gilmore of Wilmington and Becky Gilmore of Beavercreek; and a great-grandson, Colton Kelley of Sabina.
Bill retired from The Bendix Corp., Dayton, as a supervisor of inventory control with 32 years service. He also worked with Roundy Food Company as an account manager for nine years.
Mr. Merriman has served as a pastor of small churches for 52 years, and currently is at the Richland United Methodist Church in Clinton County.
Janet worked 10 years at the Schiff Shoe Store, Xenia, and retired in 1999 with 30 years service as a cafeteria manager for Xenia Community Schools.
No special celebration is planned for the anniversary.
