EC FFA wraps up successful year

The East Clinton FFA chapter recently held its 54th annual spring banquet at East Clinton High School.

Many members received awards for CDE’s, SAE’s, State and American degrees, and proficiencies. Star Greenhand, Star Chapter farmer, Star Junior, and Senior awards were also announced.

Star Greenhand was Katie Carey, Star Chapter farmer was Maggie Mathews, Star Junior was Carlie Ellis, and Star Senior was Logan McPherson.

Team awards were given out. Soils, Parliamentary Procedure, and Dairy all made it to the state level. Awards were given to students that participated in CDE’s and special awards were given to students that competed at the state level.

In addition to giving out awards, the chapter listened to guest speakers, including Warren McCarren, Grant Lach and Jed Bower. These special guests talked about the importance of FFA, and all of the great skills that it teaches students.

Honorary members and sponsors were recognized as well. Our chapter thanks everyone for their continuous support.

During the banquet, the 2019-2020 officer team was announced. President Carter Carey, Vice President Carlie Ellis, Secretary Kori Kile, Treasurer Nathan Vest, Reporter Sarah Ross, Sentinel Maggie Mathews, Student Advisor Marci Ellis, Second Vice President Trenton Garen, Second Secretary Carah Anteck, and Web Tech Katie Carey. Congratulations to our new officers.
