Blanchester police were called to the intersection of Center and Broadway streets to investigate a traffic crash at around 12:45 p.m Monday. Ptl. Sarah Luken found that two cars involved in the crash, a blue Dodge SUV and a tan Honda sedan, with the driver trapped inside the Honda, according to Police Chief Scott Reinbolt. He said Blanchester Emergency Medical Service and the Blanchester-Marion Township Fire District responded to the scene and fire personnel were able to extricate the driver from the Honda, who was transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital via ambulance. “Preliminary results of the investigation indicate the Honda was traveling northbound on Broadway Street, ran a red traffic light, and was struck in the intersection by the eastbound Dodge SUV,” stated Reinbolt.
