Local Girl Scouts at adventure camp

Girl Scouts of Clinton and Warren counties enjoyed Camp Whip Poor Will on Middleboro Road in Morrow July 19-23 featuring swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, rock wall climbing, geocaching, archery, sing-alongs, skits, 9 square, kickball, gaga ball, low ropes, and hiking.

There was also a flag retirement ceremony led by Life Time Girl Scout Member Carolee Grehan, current Leader of Troop # 30610.

The girls also completed two service projects — they made over 35 fleece blankets for local hospitals and Honor Flight cards and stars for veterans.

The camp was themed “Amazing Race” as the scouts raced through crafts and activities that were all themed around the Girl Scout Law.

Troops involved were #43624 Troop Leader Linda Falgner, #46268 Troop Leader Kara Davenport, #45461 Troop Leader Teresa Hinkle, #45988 Troop Leader Ida Miller, #49761 Troop Leader Sandy Rebholz, #45424 and 45252 lead by Tasha Enderby and #30896, #45205, and #45990 all lead by Heather Summers.

They are very thankful for local businesses that helped support them with various types of donations to allow the girls this wonderful learning experience: Blanchester Skyline, Blanchester BDK, Blanchester Kreative Kids Day Care, UDF, Wilmington Wendy’s, Wilmington PNC Bank, Lebanon Rural King, Milford Lowe’s and Target, and Gold Medal Pop Corn.
