Michaela Holcomb was a winner in the State Invention Convention held Sunday at the Ohio State Fair.

She won in the category of best environmental invention. Her invention was about removing micro-plastics from both fresh water and salt water.

She won a college scholarship from the Invention Convention.

A big thanks to Shelley Wellman who was one of her teachers at Blanchester Middle School, who was also in charge of the Blanchester Invention Convention.

Michaela will go on to compete with her invention at the National Invention Convention next May at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
