WPD: Body found in field identified

WILMINGTON — The body discovered in a field off Davids Drive on Friday, Oct. 4 has been identified as 56-year-old John F. Baker Jr., Wilmington police announced

“He was a known homeless man who frequently resided in the wooded area not far from where his body was found,” stated WPD Det. Robert Wilson.

He said police as well as the Clinton County Coroner’s Office have been in contact with family members of Baker.

The investigation into the cause of death is ongoing; police stated earlier in the week that were were no obvious signs of foul play.
