Mobility manager funding obtained

Through joint efforts with the Clinton County Regional Planning Office and community members working on the Age Friendly initiative, transportation was a need that became priority for Clinton County.

Through this process, committee members met with mobility managers from Fayette and Highland counties. Clinton County did not have a mobility manager, so the committee members used the knowledge from Fayette and Highland counties to begin the process of applying for a grant to fund this position for Clinton County.

Clinton County Community Action applied and was awarded a grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation to fund the position of mobility manager for 2020.

The responsibility of the mobility manager will be to coordinate with the city transit system, Regional Planning, as well as local businesses, organizations and employers to expand the transportation options for the entire county.

In addition, the mobility manager will be responsible for applying additional funds to meet local transportation needs.

Resumes are being accepted for the position with interviews in November and the selected candidate to begin in January, according to Jane Newkirk of Community Action.
