Sue Hicks of Wilmington earned a second place at the 38th annual Foothills Art Festival this fall in the foothills of southeast Ohio. The works of art are displayed at the indoor lodge at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp near Jackson. In the photo, Hicks holds her abstract acrylic-on-canvas painting titled Fishwife. This was her first judged show since college; she graduated from Wilmington College in 1981 as an art education major. She stopped painting for many years, but after her children were grown she decided to circle back.
