LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — A wrong-way, head-on crash on an Ohio highway has killed one driver and seriously injured the other, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Tuesday.

A pickup truck driven by Vestle Ridenour, 83, of Morrow, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Ohio 48 around 11:30 p.m. Monday when it crashed head-on into a car traveling north, the patrol’s Lebanon post said in a release.

Ridenour died at the scene. The other driver, Seth Meintel, 19, of Lebanon, was hospitalized with serious injuries, according to the patrol. His condition wasn’t immediately available Tuesday.

The Warren County Communication Center had warned authorities minutes before the crash to be on the lookout for a car that was going down the highway the wrong way.
