BLANCHESTER — The 15th annual Blanchester Community Christmas Dinner will be held Saturday, Dec. 21. This year the dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Blanchester Community Center at the Municipal Building.

The meal will be catered by McCoy’s Catering, and all citizens of Blanchester are invited to come for the meal free of charge.

The first 14 Community Christmas Dinners have been very successful. Each year the numbers have grown, and last year organizers served approximately 250 meals and delivered another 150.

This year organizers anticipate an even larger turnout.

The generous support of the Blanchester community has made the event possible, stated a media release.

“Last year’s financial support was overwhelming and this year the response has been equally generous. We are truly grateful,” said a spokesperson.

Last year there were a large number of very enthusiastic volunteers who gave of their time and energy to make the dinner a success.

Once again there is a need for volunteers to help make the dinner happen. If you would like to help in any way — serve food, clean up, bake desserts, deliver meals, or make a financial donation — event organizers said they would love to have your assistance.

“We guarantee you will come away filled with the Christmas spirit, knowing you have helped others have a more enjoyable Christmas,” a spokesperson said.
