WILMINGTON — An annual fundraising raffle to support the Clinton County Humane Society is now underway at Amy’s Pet Grooming, 149 S. Mulberry St. in Wilmington.

There will be 39 raffle winners because there are 39 donated items for the raffle. Some of those items are dinnerware, a coffeemaker, tools, a fishing pole, eagle pictures, Raggedy Ann, flowers, gift baskets, gift cards, and pizza gift certificates.

To enter the raffle, go to Amy’s Pet Grooming where you can get a raffle ticket for $1 each, or get six tickets for $5, or 16 tickets for $10. All monetary proceeds from the raffle will go to the humane society.

There’s also a 50-50 pot fundraiser. It has the same ticket prices as the raffle. The winner will receive half of the money in the pot while the other half goes to the Clinton County Humane Society (sometimes winners choose to donate their winnings to the humane society).

The drawings will be held on Friday, Dec. 20 at about 5 p.m. at Amy’s Pet Grooming. A representative of the humane society will come and draw the tickets.

Hours to stop in at the shop and enter the raffle are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed on Saturday and Sunday).

While at the shop, you may wish to give to the humane society things such as dog food, cat food, blankets, dog toys, and cleaning supplies, which will be picked up by the humane society.
