Wilmington High School students recently decorated, then delivered, cookies to teachers the students had chosen — many of the cookies decorated with the teachers’ initials or in the colors of some of the teachers’ favorite sports teams. Teacher Nikki Killen said it started as an idea for exam week in their Advisory class — not an academic class, but “a time to dedicate to building relationships,” she said. “We decided to take that time to have some fun and honor others. Students brought in icing and sprinkles, I brought in the cookies, and we delivered them to some of the teachers they wanted to celebrate. … Of course, we ate a few, too!”
