Friends Caring for Cowan Lake State Park held their second annual Winter Hike event Saturday. It was well-attended and included narrated hikes along with hot soup and other treats for everyone. Plus everyone could learn more about the park and about nature at the Naturalist Cabin, including its newest residents, Bart the Barred Owl and an American Kestrel falcon. Attendees could also see one of the other rehabbing resident birds in the new Raptor Enclosure — a red-tailed hawk.
