Escape ordinary at Blan Public Library

The Blanchester Public Library will give teens and adults a variety of ways to “Escape the Ordinary” this summer, plus the opportunity to win a GoPro camera. “Escape the Ordinary” runs from June 8 through August 8 and features plenty of activities and prizes.

Participants simply must fill out a slip for every book they read (or listen to) to be entered in a random prize drawing. So, the more books read, the better chance of winning a prize. Prizes also will be awarded to the top entries in trivia contests.

All participants will be entered in the grand prize drawing, with the winner receiving a GoPro camera and head mount and three runners-up each receiving a $50 store gift card.

The library will kick off the summer reading activities with the program “Ghosts & Spirits” at 7 p.m., June 9. Barbara Jennings, of the Cincinnati Museum Center, will talk about the older houses and public spaces in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area that have resident ghosts.

The Friends of the Blanchester Public Library and First National Bank of Blanchester are the sponsors of “Escape the Ordinary.”

All programs are free and open to the public.

For more information, visit or call the library at 937-783-3585.
