Farmers market springs into Saturday

WILMINGTON — The Clinton County Farmers Market returns for its 2020 spring season on Saturday, March 7 in the Wilmington Municipal Building Community at 69 N. South St. downtown.

The Spring markets will take place 9 a.m.-noon on the first and third Saturdays during March through May The market accepts cash and credit cards.

The 2020 Spring Market will feature familiar returning vendors who will be offering early spring seasonal fresh produce, locally grown beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, farm fresh eggs, homemade baked goods and breads, herbs, candies, and other artisan crafts. All products at the Market are locally home grown or homemade in Clinton County or an adjacent county.

The Clinton County Farmers Market is a family-friendly, community-oriented event. Free kids’ activities will be available. During the 2020 Spring Market, Kids Club will continue for kids ages 5-12. Each time a Kids Club member attends the market, they will receive special tokens to buy fresh vegetables.

Two special events scheduled for the Spring Market season include “Celebrating Earth Day” on April 18 with free tree seedlings distributed by the Clinton Soil and Water Conservation District staff, and on May 16 Naturalist Mandy Wolski from Cowan Lake will be on hand with some of the animal friends from the Nature Center.

Market Management is looking to add new vendors. Applications are now available for the 2020 Summer Market which starts June 6 at the outside location on Mulberry Street.
