Info for CCP, SSCC students

WILMINGTON — College Credit Plus (CCP) high school students who hoped to take Southern State Community College courses at SSCC’s north campus in Wilmington will still be able to do those college courses in person in Wilmington on the Wilmington College campus instead.

To stem any possible confusion that College Credit Plus students may have concerning this week’s announcement that Southern State’s north campus will not re-open when in-person classes resume, the college issued a statement Wednesday.

Southern State President Kevin Boys said, “Our plan is to simply move the current North Campus course offerings as posted to the campus of Wilmington College. All class offerings are always subject to adequate enrollment. Classes will be taught by Southern State faculty, and will offer the same ease of transferability as our courses offered on any of our campuses or on-line.

“We will be communicating to the affected students and high school counselors within the week,” said Boys.
