CHESTER TOWNSHIP — Adam Norton, an upcoming senior at Clinton-Massie High School, played “Taps” as part of a Memorial Day event Monday at his family’s home honoring those who gave their lives serving the United States in wartime.
Clinton-Massie band director Christen McClain alerted the family to the opportunity.
The Chester Township Fire Department brought Engine 51 and squad, in addition to the 4 Freedom Equestrian Team, friends, family and neighbors who came to support Norton and pay their respects to fallen military members.
The video was uploaded to CBS News as part of Steve Hartman’s Taps Across America, and Taps for Veterans.
Norton has been playing the trumpet since sixth grade. He has played “Taps” and the “Star Spangled Banner” solo at community and school events. He has been part of the Marching and Pep Band programs since eighth grade, and moreover does well in academics.
