Support Senior Citizens via Virtual 5K

Clinton County Community Action will be holding the “7th” Annual 5K Corn Run/Walk — except in light of current circumstances, it will be done virtually.

On Sept. 12 a “Virtual 5K” can be completed at your own pace, on your own route, and you can post your pictures on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/clintoncountyseniorcenter

Due to COVID-19, we have all had to change how we do things. The senior center has been closed during this period but the needs are still there.

According to Jane Newkirk, the senior center staff has continued to provide meals, supportive services, homemaking and transportation to Clinton County seniors in need during this difficult period.

Staff would like to take this time to prepare the senior center for reopening and do some special things to make it a better place for our seniors to attend — a place they can be proud of. They deserve it.

By participating in this event participants will be a part of contributing to these goals, getting exercise, fresh air and having a little fun.

Registration fee will be $20 pre-registered by Aug.31 for a free t-shirt and a medallion will be mailed to all participants who complete the 5K and post photos shared to the Senior Center Facebook page.

Registration forms can be obtained at the Community Action website clintoncap.org or by calling the office at 937-382-8365.

If anyone is interested in being a sponsor for this event, please contact the Community Action office.
