Leadership Clinton cancels its biggest annual fundraiser Dinner in the Fields; continues to lead in uncertain times

0

Leadership Clinton has been producing the future leaders of tomorrow since 1986, and that will never change no matter the circumstances. In the wake of the pandemic, Leadership Clinton is not immune to the virus at hand.

Over the last several months Leadership Clinton has made the very difficult decision to cancel Dinner in the Fields, the main fundraiser for the organization and a Clinton County favorite. The event is always held in early August and normally draws people from neighboring counties as well.

The Board of Directors thanks the community for the past participation in this great event, and next year plans to move forward with it as it would have been scheduled.

Leadership Clinton needs the help, though, of its alumni, friends and the community to continue its great work. The Institute is asking for your help to raise funds in light of the recent turn of events.

A donation to the Institute will ensure the future leaders of tomorrow will have the same benefits alumni and friends have had for 34 years.

If you wish to make a donation to Leadership Clinton, please send it to: P.O. Box 170, Wilmington, OH 45177 or via the Clinton County Leadership Institute website https://leadershipclinton.org/ .

Welcome, and thank you

Leadership Clinton welcomes Jonathan McKay as the new Program Coordinator. He will be taking over for Cathy Koerner, who held the position from 2017-2020.

The Board of Directors thanks Cathy for all that she has done, and at the recent graduation of the Class of 2020, she was given the honor of Lifetime Leader.

Jonathan McKay is 2016 graduate of Leadership Clinton and has held many leadership positions in Clinton County. He is known for his charisma and forward-thinking ideas.

He formerly served as Chief Business Development Officer Wilmington Savings Bank and before that as a realtor and auction assistant with Kersey Real Estate and Auction Company.

McKay is a Wilmington City Councilman and Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors member. He is a Wilmington College Trustee member where he serves as Chair of the Development Committee and is on the Building and Grounds Committee.

He is also Trustee of the Antique Power Club, Vice Chair of the Ohio Dominican University Alumni Council, and he is a member of Wilmington Friends Meeting where he is a member of the nominating committee.
