JAMES FISHER

James D. Fisher, 78, of Lansdale, Pa., died Friday, July 31, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Noel (Forster) Fisher, his wife of 30 years.

Born June 23, 1942, in Harveysburg, Ohio, he was the son of the late Delbert and Mabel (Burton) Fisher. He was raised on his family’s farm where he learned humility, family values, hard work, and the importance of faith.

Jim attended Ohio State University and earned his Ph.D. in plant physiology from the University of Illinois. He worked as a senior research scientist with Rohm and Haas for 32 years, retiring in 2000.

Jim was a longtime, dedicated member of Lansdale United Methodist Church. An avid softball player, he was a founding member of his church’s softball league and enjoyed playing with his senior softball team.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nathan J. Fisher of Woodstock, Ga., and Erin N. Eddins (Daniel) of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Gracie and Nathan; and sister, Patricia Lewis of Wilmington, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leah S. Wickersham.
