Donald Junior Peterson, 78, of New Vienna, Ohio passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home with his family at his side.
His wife, Yvonne Keaton Peterson, whom he married July 31, 1963, survives.
He was born September 24, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Lester and Goldie Kimberley Peterson.
Mr. Peterson retired from General Motors after a 33-year career. Following retirement, he worked for the Clinton County Soil and Water Conservation District, Dayton Power and Light, and Wilmington City Schools.
He was U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Peterson is survived by his five children, Vickie (Roger) Daugherty, Donna Denny, Ida Grubb, Kimberley (James) Manning, and Donald Junior Peterson II; a brother, Eugene Peterson; a sister, Charlotte Markland; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Jim and Joe, and two sisters, Louise and Helen, are preceded in death.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Ohio. A celebration of Mr. Peterson’s life will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
