Olivia Wood, 16, of Sabina, won the Tony Grapevine Memorial Showmanship Sweepstakes on Thursday evening. The achievement sets her apart as best for overall showmanship at the 2015 Clinton County Junior Fair in six animal categories: sheep, horse, swine, goat, dairy and beef. Wood, representing the sheep barn, competed with five other species showmanship winners in the sweepstakes. “I can’t believe it,” Wood said afterward. The number of hugs and photos after Wood’s win show the high regard for the showmanship sweepstakes event at the county fair. Wood belongs to the East Clinton FFA and to the Clinton Land & Livestock 4-H Club. Taylor Thatcher, representing the horse barn, received recognition as the sweepstakes first runner-up.
