OSHP: Wilmington man dies in single-vehicle accident

CHESTER TWP. – A Wilmington man died in a single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 3:33 p.m. Todd Bonham, 55, of Wilmington was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette southbound on State Route 380 in Chester Township, according to a news release from the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree before Bonham was completely ejected from the vehicle, the OSHP stated.

“Mr. Bonham was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the OSHP stated. “The driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. No drugs or alcohol are suspected at this time.”

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Chester Township Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. “We would like to remind motorists to always wear their seat belt,” the OSHP stated.
