School Road to be closed

School Road will be closed for bridge maintenance beginning Monday, May 3, weather permitting, the Clinton County Engineer’s Office announced. It is located between SR 73 and Antioch Road in Green Township.

The last address accessible from the west (SR 73) is 35 School Road and the last address accessible from the east (Antioch Road) is 180 School Road.

The project is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting.

McCarty Gardens celebrates 25 years

An open house celebrating McCarty Gardens’ 25 years in business is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 1. A ribbon-cutting in conjunction with the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce will be at noon at 10623 SR 3, Sabina.

The event includes: For every $25 spent, receive a ticket for the door prize drawing; every $50 spent, receive 5% off your purchase; and for every $100 spent, receive 10% off your purchase.

Homemade firework removed

Blanchester police received a call at 3:55 p.m. Saturday of a suspicious device found in the 700 block of Center Street.

It was discovered to be a “homemade firework”, according to BPD Sgt. Brian Noah. The Blanchester Marion Township Fire Department responded and removed the device.
