Man reportedly robs Blan store

BLANCHESTER — Blanchester police are looking for help identifying and locating a man who allegedly robbed Tom’s Express Mart, and the greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Crimestoppers is offering a $500 reward for information.

Tom’s is a convenience store located at 7529 Fairground Road.

A man entered Tom’s after the store closed through an unlocked front door, threatened the clerk with a handgun and demanded cash. The clerk gave the man more than $1,000, and the man fled on foot.

The alleged robber wore a red and green bandana, which, coupled with the hood of a sweatshirt, covered his face. He had an Appalachian accent.

Blanchester police believe the man used a getaway car near the 7500 block of Rosewood Drive, which runs behind Tom’s. They are looking for people who may have seen a suspicious car there between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Crimestoppers is offering a reward of $500 for information leading to the arrest of any person involved in this violent crime. Tips can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation processed the scene and will examine evidence in their laboratory. The Clermont and Clinton County Sheriff’s Offices aided at the scene.
