Local Briefs: Four roads set for upcoming closure; students earn college honors

2 roads closing Wednesday

Brooks-Carroll Road in Massie Township, Warren County and Collett Road in Chester Township, Clinton County — located between Oregonia Road and SR 73 — will be closed for one day on Wednesday, May 26, weather permitting, according to the Warren County Engineer’s Office.

The closure is to pave the entire road in one pass. Fillmore Construction plans to begin paving at Oregonia Road and continue east to SR 73.

The detour will be Oregonia Road to SR 73.

Haley Road to be closed

Haley Road will be closed for bridge maintenance beginning Tuesday, June 1, weather permitting.

This bridge is located between Gleason Road and Sabina Road in Wilson Township. The last address accessible from the south (Gleason Road) is 3540 Haley Road and there are no addresses between the bridge and Sabina Road.

The project is anticipated to take two weeks, weather permitting.

Dudley Road to be closed

Dudley Road will be closed for road reconstruction beginning Monday, June 7, weather permitting, according to the Clinton County Engineer’s Office.

This road reconstruction includes the entire road located between Second Creek Road and SR 28 and also between SR 28 and Shawnee Trace Road in Marion Township. Dudley Road residents will be permitted access.

The project is estimated to be completed by June 30, weather permitting

Locals earn Findlay diplomas

Receiving University of Findlay degrees this spring were: Christopher Demler of Wilmington, B.S. in Business, cum laude; and Hazel Young of Wilmington, B.S. in Equestrian Studies and Equine Business Management.

Pickard earns Trine honors

Grant Pickard of Wilmington earned spring 2021 dean’s list honors (3.5-3.749 GPA) at Trine University in Angola, Ind.

Turpin earns Harding degree

Penny Turpin of Blanchester earned a Master of Arts in Teaching this spring at Harding University in Searcy, Ark.
