Reeder headed to trial

WILMINGTON — After about 10 months in court, a Wilmington man is slated for a two-day jury trial Tuesday on charges of trafficking heroin.

Jason Reeder, 38, was indicted in June 2015 on two fourth-degree felony counts of trafficking in heroin.

Reeder allegedly sold heroin on Linton Avenue in Wilmington in February of 2015, according to Detective Scott Baker of the Wilmington Police Department and Greater Warren County Drug Task Force.

Baker said the transaction was allegedly witnessed by undercover law enforcement, and the seized drugs later tested positive for more than three grams of heroin.

The trial is scheduled to begin a 9 a.m. Baker, WPD Officer Anthony Mitchell and Brook Ehlers, an employee of the Miami Valley Crime Lab have been summoned to potentially testify.

The 12 jurors and two alternates, in case a juror cannot complete the duty before him or her, will listen to prosecutors and defense attorney Daniel O’Brien present evidence and testimony before deliberating in private. After deliberations, the jurors will present their verdict.
