Area employers earn workplace safety awards

Employers from the Clinton, Highland and Fayette Counties area were recognized by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC) for their strong workplace safety records.

Clinton County area employers recognized include: Clinton County government — 882,821 hours worked; Southern Ohio Educational Service Center — 579,164 hours worked; Village of Blanchester — 687,717 hours worked; Huhtamaki — 992,279 hours worked; and PC Connection Inc. — 1,434,840 hours worked.

The businesses or entities received BWC’s Special Award for Safety for at least 500,000 hours and six months without an injury resulting in a day or more away from work.

The awards were presented during the annual awards meeting of the Highland/Fayette/Clinton Safety Council, one of more than 80 across the state that serve as partners in BWC’s efforts to educate employers and workers about the importance of workplace safety.
