Church Briefs: Concert Sunday at New Vienna Community Church; Ice Cream Social Aug. 7 at Cuba Friends

Concert at New Vienna church

The New Vienna Community Church at 412 West St. will host a concert featuring Lisa Ann Hammond on Sunday, August 1 at 10:30 a.m.

Lisa is a Christian recording artist and songwriter. She suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes her to have involuntary movements and vocalizations. When her singing begins, like a miracle, the Lord’s comforting touch takes away her affliction.

“We are thrilled to have Lisa back and look forward to hearing her sing,” said Pastor Dan Mayo. “She is quite gifted and is as beautiful in spirit as in her musical presentation. We are pleased to offer this concert either in person or at the sites listed below. If you cannot join us Sunday morning, feel free to tune in at your convenience.”

The services will be livestreamed at the New Vienna Community Church YouTube site — type in newviennacommunitychurch — or join at the Facebook page “NVCC”.

For more information, call Pastor Mayo at 937-725-0445.

Cuba Friends ice cream social

An Ice Cream Social will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7 at Cuba Friends Church, 5801 Cuba Road.

A silent auction will also be going on during the Ice Cream Social.
