WILMINGTON — It’ll soon be time for locals to audition for the annual Murphy Theatre Christmas Show!
Auditions will be held on Sunday, Oct. 3 from 1 p.m. until about 5 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 4 from 5 p.m. until about 8 p.m. on the Murphy Theatre stage.
Please only audition if you will be able to commit to rehearsals (dates to be determined) and show dates — Friday, Dec. 3; Saturday, Dec. 4; and and Sunday, Dec. 5. Masks are required for auditions.
This year’s show will have a “generational gathering” theme and the setting will be the grandparents’ home on Christmas Eve through Christmas morning.
This is a great opportunity to join our community in celebrating the holidays on the historic Murphy Theatre stage. This year’s performance is co-directed by Diane Murphy and Dean Feldmeyer.
All are welcome to audition; there is no age limit, and no experience necessary. Auditioners should come prepared to perform their favorite Christmas song/carol.
Also, specifically, we are looking for:
• 3-4 year-olds to be mice
• Children 5 and up for choir and speaking parts
• Ballet dancers (bring shoes)
• Teens that can inline skate (bring skates)
• Teens and adults to sing and/or dance
• Adults’ grandparent age
• Pianist (come prepared to perform)
• Individuals with the ability to play a string instrument such as guitar or violin (bring your instrument with you)
• Other unique talents (be prepared to perform such talent)
