Modern Woodmen of America teamed with Operation Cherrybend to help raise funds for their annual veterans event.

The Ellis family hosts this event for those who have served in combat, and are avid outdoorsmen, in a relaxed and open atmosphere.

Operation Cherrybend was Sept. 8-12 with 43 veterans/participants. Funds raised through the outing totaled $2,500, and Modern Woodmen matched $2,500 for a total of $5,000.

Modern Woodmen of America teamed up with Community Care Hospice to help raise funds for patient care. Proceeds of the fundraiser are being used to provide supplies for the services of CCH.

Community Care Hospice hosted a golf outing at Snow Hill Country Club Sept. 24 and Modern Woodmen matched up to $2,500 for the fundraiser.

“Community Care Hospice is a non-profit and has patients with great financial need and we are glad to help support this great organization,” said Modern Woodmen District Agent Dan Mayo. “Bev and I have first-hand knowledge of the work they do and we are grateful for all they do to help families at a critical place in their lives.”
