‘Nixon Concedes To Kennedy’
“(AP) — Democrat John Fitzgerald Kennedy today won the United State presidency — the youngest man ever elected to the nation’s highest office. Kennedy’s Republican opponent, Vice President Richard M. Nixon, conceded defeat after a seesaw vote count battle that was not determined until after noon today. the clincher came when Minnesota’s 11 electoral votes were safely tucked away in the Kennedy column.”

‘Big Yes Vote Goes To C-M Bond Issue’
“Voters in 10 precincts, five each in Clinton and Warren County, gave a resounding 57.81 percent approval for the $559,000 Clinton-Massie school bond issue … for the construction of a new high school center in the district which includes Adams, Kingman, Clarksville and Harveysburg” to be “constructed either on George’s corner or the Ruth Hadley farm.”
• “Republican Congressman Clarence J. Brown, Blanchester, won his 12th consecutive election from the Seventh District Tuesday, defeating his Democratic opponent Joseph A. Sullivan by 42,000 votes with two of the nine counties in the district reporting incomplete.
• Republican candidates Walter Lynch and Maynard Borton were elected to the Board of Clinton County Commissioners, while Harold Hormell was elected sheriff over Thomas Downing and Howard Barns was elected Probate Court judge over Thomas Sprinkle.
• “A number of Clinton Countians will attend the 42nd annual meeting of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation in Columbus” including delegates Robert Garland, Mrs. C.R. Clark and Clarence Hodgson as well as Kenneth Curtis in the Youthpower contest and Dwight McKay in the state talk meet. Other adults going were Court Hall, Ralph Hobson, Don Bernard, Tom Eglin and Herman Arnold.
• “Adams Township defeated visiting Lynchburg 63-49 in an election night basketball game” led by Jim Mitchell’s 24 points and Jim Reveal’s 17.
