Ohio new unemployment claims, continued ones both drop past week

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohioans filed 7,519 initial traditional unemployment claims last week (Nov. 21-27), which was 301 more than the previous week.

The state’s residents filed 32,134 continued traditional unemployment claims last week, which was 8,265 less than the previous week.

The total number of traditional claims filed Nov. 21-27 was 39,653.

Ohio’s unemployment rate in October was 5.1%. The national unemployment rate in October was 4.6%.

Ohio’s labor force participation rate in October was 61.2%. The national labor force participation rate in October was 61.6%.
