0

The Clinton County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) encourages local residents to be informed and sign up for Smart911.

What would you do if you have a few extra minutes to react to a disaster?

The average lead time from the National Weather Service is 6 to 13 minutes for a tornado warning.

With spring storms on the horizon, civil warnings, evacuations and shelter notifications, or other safety issues that arise getting alerts from Smart911 is essential to your safety.

Smart911 saves critical time in an emergency and has proven to save lives.

We encourage our residents to take a moment and go to www.cc-ema.org/alerts and sign up for Smart911. This is will allow us to geo-tag special alerts for areas specifically affected by some type of disaster.

This service is free.
