Wilmington resident Phyllis Clark said she has had issues with several suspected fraudsters and scammers calling her and pretending to be employees of the Publisher’s Clearing House.
Clark said in all instances, the people who called her asked her to send money, which is against PCH’s sweepstakes policies.
“If someone contacts you claiming to be from PCH, and tells you that you’ve won a prize award – then asks you to send a payment or money card in order to claim the prize – stop,” a message on the PCH’s website says. “You have not heard from the real PCH.”
PCH also said it will never ask people to send money.
When asked if she sent money, Clark said, “Heck no!”
Those in similar situations should follow in her footsteps.
