It was indeed a tornado that touched down briefly in the Clarksville area Wednesday afternoon.

Damage from the storm in both Clinton and Warren counties around Clarksville was assessed Thursday morning by members of the Clinton County EMA, Warren County EMA, Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District, and the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The National Weather Service deemed it an EF0 tornado with accompanying winds in the 80 mph range; it was on the ground for perhaps 200 meters, estimated Clinton County EMA Director Tom Breckel.

Most damage was done in Warren County near the bridge off SR 350, Breckel said.
