WILMINGTON — Tickets for the 2016–17 season are now on sale to members of the Murphy Theatre and will be available to non-members on June 15.

This season includes dozens of new shows and returning favorites, including Phil Dirt and the Dozers on Jan. 21, presented by Bill Marine Ford; AnDa Union from Inner Mongolia, China on Oct. 22; the Murphy’s annual Christmas show, Murphy Express presented by Wilmington Savings Bank, which opens Dec. 9; and this year’s “Murphy Theatre’s Dancing with the Stars,” presented Sept. 17 by CMH Regional Health System and directed by Timothy Larrick.

This year’s local stars/contestants will be: Sigrid Solomon of Wilmington College; Wilmington council member Randi Milburn; Mindy McCarty-Stewart, principal of Wilmington High School; Karli Harris, owner of Everyday Chic Boutique; attorney Laura Gibson; Randy Graf, publisher of the News Journal; physician John Hollon; Chip Murdock of Wilmington College; attorney Brett Rudduck; and Dow Tippett, pastor of Faith Family Church.

Annual theater memberships start at $50 and offer priority ticketing for two weeks before the general public. Membership supplements ticket sales and facility rentals to help the theater provide resources for programming, operations and maintenance.

Memberships can be purchased online at themurphytheatre.org, by phone at 937-382-3643, by mail or in person at the theater office at 50 W. Main St. between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Members can purchase tickets for shows in the 2016–17 season in person or over the phone through June 14; tickets will be available online starting June 15.
