WILMINGTON — Alexys Parish’s car went off the road twice, overturned at least once, lost its roof and back seat, suffered damage to the sides and hood and left the windshield in a crumpled sheet Friday afternoon.
Parish, 19, of Westerville was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after the incident on Interstate 71. Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Kyle Hurles said she was alert but in pain, lying still.
Parish’s condition was unknown at press time.
OSHP troopers are still investigating, trying to find out what happened to make Parish go off the road.
Witnesses told investigating Trooper Kyle Hurles there weren’t any cars around her, she went off to the left of the northbound lane into the median, came back into the road, went off the road to the right, rolled over at least once and settled 250 feet away.
The incident was reported about 2:20 near mile marker 49 in the northbound lane of I-71.
Parish was driving a 2001 Jeep Wrangler.
OSHP continues to investigate the incident.
