English Club met April 1 at the McCoy’s Party House.

Vice President Nancy Williams welcomed 18 members and introduced guests Scott and Jill Riddle, and her sister Jane Lane. She thanked her mother for serving as the hostess.

The tables were decorated with centerpieces of pink carnations. Each place setting had a spring basket of goodies for each guest.

Following the blessing by Sharon Breckel, members were invited to the buffet table.

After lunch, Avonelle introduced the program that was presented by Scott Riddle, the Worthy Grand Patron of the State of Ohio. He told of his diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a rare type of cancer that he was diagnosed with in 2010. He credited regenerative medicine with his healing.

Following his presentation, Avonelle recited the poem, “Three Trees.”

The business meeting followed with the reading of the secretary’s report and treasurer’s report.

Joan Burge announced Frances Sharp had been selected one of the Outstanding Women of Clinton County for 2022.

To close the meeting, Nancy asked us to solve the riddles she read.
