Safe Routes To School project underway in Blanchester

BLANCHESTER – A project to reconstruct the sidewalk on the north side of East Baldwin Street to Putnam Elementary School got underway Monday in the village of Blanchester, according to ODOT.

Sidewalk closures are in place on East Baldwin Street between North Broadway and North Columbia streets daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Traffic will not be impacted.

The project, funded through ODOT’s Safe Routes to School program, includes installation of ADA compliant curb ramps, crosswalks and signage.

Axis Civil Construction, LLC was awarded a contract for $133,694 to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early fall of 2022.
