MIDLAND — A new Dollar General store at 126 State Route 28, Midland is now open.

Dollar General plans to create new jobs in the Midland community as the store is expected to employ approximately six to 10 people, depending on the individual needs of the store.

To commemorate the opening of DG’s new Midland location, Dollar General plans to donate 100 new books to a nearby elementary school to benefit students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade.

According to a press release, in addition to the national and private-branded products that Dollar General carries, the new Midland location includes the company’s new stylish, on-trend home décor and an expanded party preparation selection.

The release states DG stores are proud to provide area residents with an affordable and convenient store location to purchase household essentials including food, cleaning supplies, paper products, over-the-counter medicines, hygiene products, baby items and more.

The addition of the Midland store opens the opportunity for schools, nonprofit organizations and libraries within a 15-mile radius of the store to apply for Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants.
